How can I get into the professional makeup buisness?

Alright, so I love doing people's makeup, and I am really good at it too. I just wondered if anyone could tell me how I can get into that Business, do I have to go to school for it? How much is it? What are the different areas I could be working in for this?How can I get into the professional makeup buisness?
Find a professional WORKING artist (or someone working in the field of makeup artistry that you are interested in) and ask to assist them. If need be, start by just washing their brushes, getting them coffee, etc. Once they trust you, they will start to trust you to do makeup on talent to help move things along, and in the process you will learn alot about set etiquette and makeup tips.





This is my opinion is far better than going to school. Being on set and learning from a pro is the best way to go.How can I get into the professional makeup buisness?
First, go to cosmetology school, then try getting a job at a local hair salon to do people's makeup. Make sure your makeup collection has a wide variety, because you never know what the client would like. Try to get jobs by doing makeup at local fashion shows, then you will meet people who know people and so forth. Its just all about connections and experience. Good luck!
well i once went to get my make up done by this lady at MAC..i asked that if she had to take a certain course at this to get into that and she told me that she was just good at it so they just tested her...she said that she didn't need to get ay sort of degree..
