Halloween Makeup Help please..any professionals out there?

So my hubbie %26amp; I are going to be Aliens. All green. I bought the makeup and it is a green body paint. Then you have to allpy a setting spray, and a special remover will be used to get it off. I was thinking thoug, how am I going to get this on my face and be able to look good. I am going for a ';hot alien'; look. LOL. How do I go about this around my eyes, eybrows, and hairline without it looking goopy or gross?Halloween Makeup Help please..any professionals out there?
I would be careful around your eyes and mouth, and if you want a ';hot'; alien look I would outline my eyes in black liquid liner and do green shadows. This works well because you wont have to put any of the body paint around your eyes too much. Try Manic Panic, they make green lipstick.Halloween Makeup Help please..any professionals out there?
Use a foundation Brush. Not a sponge or your fingers but a true foundation brush. It spreads evenly and is easy to clean. Be careful what you put on your face though, moisturize first.

Makeup artists, professionals, enthusiasts, please help!?

I'm an amateur freelance makeup artist. I was called for a photoshoot tomorrow. Could you please teach me how to do makeup on men? Well, my makeup aren't the very expensive ones; and aren't that complete either. But, I just really want to have an idea. Could you please help me?Makeup artists, professionals, enthusiasts, please help!?

1) Take your cues from the photographer %26amp; art director.

2) Have mattifier or sheer powder on hand to minimize oil. Have a bit of lip balm or Vaseline on hand for lips. Vaseline can also be used to tame brows %26amp; just touch to lengthen lashes. You can use clear mascara instead - it's a bit neater %26amp; won't smear.

3) Check out some men's fashion magazines or websites to see if you have stuff on hand to create some of the looks. Practice them in your head; imagine what you'd do.

Good luck!
Makeup for me. I would suggest you make sure that his skin is clean. If you decide to use foundation...I suggest mixing it with a moisturizer...so it looks more natural and dewy. Powder with loose powder or press powder if you need more coverage of a matte finish. Avoid the cheeks. Then add concealer according.

Then I would use a bronzer that does not have any shimmer or glitter in it. I would apply a dash of light cheek color.

For the lips...I would just line it with a natural lip color and add some lip balm on top of it to blend. T

Then for the eyes...I usually just add a eye makeup base to the lids and then apply some mascara to the lash line (very lightly)and use a clean brush to brush it through.
DO NOT USE EYELINER or heavy at least.. its ugly. Also clear mascara might be a good idea, it increases eyelash volume without color, and some light concealer to hide any blemishes and cheek bone highlights, since a sculptured look is usually desirable.

Makeup professionals: Need Help!?

I have baby blue eyes. What color eyeliner and mascara would make my eyes pop? What color eye shadows should i use?Makeup professionals: Need Help!?
Eyeshadows- browns and golds

If you have light hair- brown eyeliner and mascara.

Dark hair- black eyeliner and mascara.Makeup professionals: Need Help!?
I would use natural and sandy colors. You can line your eyes with a khaki brown and smudge it into your lash line and top with black-brown mascara. If you want to use a shadow, try Cover Girl's Shimmering Sands Trio - dust the lightest color under your eyebrow, the middle color on your eyelid and the deep chocolate color in your crease. You can top off with a clear shimmer gloss.
you want to use a black eyeliner BUT not think like you see in pictures. some of the best eyeliner ive used is the NYC. It's cheapest and stays on during the day.

You also want to use a thickening mascara. I personally love the big flirt by kohls

not too pricey for the best mascra EVER!!

Uhmmm for eye shdow you want to use browns golds and creams.

covergirl is way good for this. also if you can find the eyeshdow cream the stays on all day and is amazing!!

Good luck :]]
nothing too intense, stick with earthy tones. like brown, gold. if you have eyes that stand out, too much make up will make them disappear. and with eye liner its best to use a dark brown. its close to black without being too severe.

and black mascara is just fine, unless you have blonde lashes. sometimes black is too much and it's good to go with a dark brown.
eyeliner and mascara-brown

eyeshadow-brown and pink maybe dark blues if youre daring
purples and browns with black liner

Try contacting a local salon. Ask if there is someone who will do this for you.

My sister met a makeup girl at a department store and asked her to come to the house to do her makeup for my wedding. Just ask around, and you'll find someone.Does anyone know of any makeup/hair/pedicure professionals who will come to your house for a party?
Mary Kay will come to your house and do a party and do makeup for you and/or all your guests.... I am not really sure about the other things,,pedicure/hair...call around, someone is bound to know something!!!!! good luck
i know mary kay and avon will come and do your make up and you can go to a hair school like rudy and kelly and talk to them about it
girl, I have a cousin that do professionals one, but we are in n.y.
Arizona state law prohibits cosmetologists, estheticians, and nail techs to perform services outside of a licensed salon unless they are approved by the licensing salon to do so. What this means for you is that you can't just have a cosmetologist, nail tech, or esthetician you've met come into your house. You have to legally go through a salon and request this service otherwise the esthetician/cosmetologist/nail tech could loose their license. I'd guess that many salons would want to steer clear of this as they do in my state because the reasoning behind the salon license having to back up the worker is that their insurance would cover the worker if for any reason the conditions in the house weren't sanitary and someone got an infection. It's a liability for them and they could loose their license.

You should be able to find a makeup artist to come out to your house since makeup artists aren't licensed they are certified. You may find an artist who can do hair and will style it for you but if you want cutting, coloring, or anything permanent then you have to have someone licensed. For nails, if you do find someone who will go against the licensing board and come to your house without a salon permit then they are probably dicey. Nails get infected very easily and nail areas have to be kept insanely clean because the nail bed is so vulnerable to infection. Your home wouldn't have the same sanitation as a salon is required to keep so it's best for you to go and have the nails done in a sterile controlled environment. There are very few states who allow for ';mobile salons'; because of the liability.
Mary Kay does house parties. I've found them to be excellent.
you can prob go to any of the places around your area and ask them if they will come .. they prob wont mind as long as you are willing to pay the price .. other wise i would check any spas in your area

I've heard professionals put lighter makeup on the bridge or top of the nose and darker makeup on the sides. Obviously not a huge difference in shade, so it doesn't look silly. This helps narrow the nose. How can i use contouring on my BIG nose?(makeup professionals ony plz)?
Not a professional but since you aren't getting any other responses, I've always heard that if you make your foundation or powder a little bit lighter in the middle of your nose it makes it look thinner.

Can i carry over license hours from professional theatrical experience in the hair and makeup field?

I have quite a bit of experience as a makeup and hair designer/technician for several theatrical and film productions and I'm hoping to transition to fashion and photography. Unfortunately I think this means my B.F.A. means nothing and I need to become a licensed cosmetologist (a good move anyway). I've got my eyes set on a few schools but I was wondering if there was any reciprocity for professional theatrical work (which one does not need a license for oddly enough). I'm not expecting much but I'll take what I can get. If anyone knows or knows where I can find out I'd be super grateful. Can i carry over license hours from professional theatrical experience in the hair and makeup field?
I do not think so I am a cosmetologistCan i carry over license hours from professional theatrical experience in the hair and makeup field?
this question would be best asked of the licensing agency in the state where you wish to practice as a cosmetologist.

ask if it is possible to apply your academic hours and your field work toward the cosmetology license requirements, and tell them that you are willing to demonstrate your skills, if they would like you to.

Is $600 fair for professional photo shoot including hair and makeup?

I have been offered to sign with a fairly popular modeling agency in my area. Before signing I want to make sure I'm not getting ripped off. The agency is legitamite, but I have heard of girls that are signed even though their not modeling material just to pay for photos and never get work. Once i sign the contract I am exlcusive to them for 12 months so I want to be sure. They are charging $600 bucks to get professional photos to build a portfolio. This includes comp cards, 8x10s, and a cd. They also provide hair and makeup. The shots include 5-8 outfit changes. I know that a portfolio and professional photos are necessary in order to submit to clients, but is $600 bucks reasonable? Also I believe there is (25) comp cards, 4 or 5 8x10s included, not sure though. Is this normal for an agency, am I being scamed?

PS, before I even get the photos they already have an audition for a fashion show lined up for me this Monday. There is not limit to when I have to get the photos and their not a requirement, the agency just recommends it to get more jobs. There is also a payment plan.Is $600 fair for professional photo shoot including hair and makeup?
Tyra Banks says that they never charge you.

Do research before going. 600 dollars is a lot of money and you def don't want them to take that from you and rip you off.

  • How can I modify my current makeup use to look more professional?

I am going to be working in an office for the first time, instead of Retail. I feel that my taste in makeup is too much for a professional office setting (secretary position). How can I keep my taste in makeup without looking too made up?

I normally wear a fair amount of black eyeliner on my bottom lids. The so-called ';cat eye';, but without dark lids. As eyeshadow color, I use Baked Sands by Physician's Formula. I have black mascara that doesn't do anything fancy (I already have thick long lashes). Sometimes I apply liquid liner on the top lids as well.

The eye makeup brings attention to my eyes, and away from the fact that I have a very round face. I use cover up, not foundation. I don't use colored lipstick/gloss. I don't use blush. How can I modify my current makeup use to look more professional?
    Sounds good to me.

It's best to wear more earthy tones.

Browns, light pinks, bronze in the office.

People take you more seriously if your face is neutral.

You can be pretty, but not a drop dead bombshell and have men running after you.

    Light mascara and eye liner.

Your regimen already sounds okay for the office.

Sometimes I even do the cat eye and wear black eyeshadowHow can I modify my current makeup use to look more professional?
In an office setting dark eye makeup is kind of an unspoken no-no. No one will flat out tell you that they don't want you wearing it but it's somewhat understood. Keep your makeup clean and natural. Instead of lining your eyes along the bottom, I would suggest a thin line on your upper lid. You are still drawing attention to your eyes in a much less severe way. I think making that one small change will make a big difference.
If you don't have acne or any blemishes, use just a loose powder. Then a brown or charcoal colored eyeliner on the top and bottom of your lid, but make sure its a line. Then use a light pink eye shadow on your upper lid. Then use a light pink lip gloss.

Make sure its very clean and fresh but still professional.

    Hope it helps :)
Use neutral colours like brown, gold, tan/cream, pink etc, and instead of black eyeliner use brown to tone it down a bit and look more natural.

You said your eyelashes are long and thick (jealous :P) so it's optional if you want to use mascara or not but if you choose to then use brown. (:

    Hope i helped x
This sounds fine to me. You went to an interview with that make up on then they obviously have no problem with that make up. By what make up you wear you sound quite young. So there really shouldn't be a problem. After all, your employer employed you for what you can do not how much or how little make you have on.
maybe wear calmer colors. like the warm colors-browns and pinks. and maybe not so much eye liner

Makeup questions for makeup professionals or makeup addicts?

Well, there's an upcoming event in our school and I was asked to be the makeup artist for an org's (stage) host for a night event. The girl's face I'm going to do has ... well can't find the right term... has a ';cratered'; (harsh of me...) face. Meaning, she has lots of holes in her face. Should I fill em up with foundation? Liquid, powder, or cream? And how strong the makeup should be because she will be spotlighted since the event will be held at night? Any tips please?

Setting aside my question above, when doing a natural makeup look on a face with such texture, is it still advisable to use foundation? Is it necessary to fill those holes up?Makeup questions for makeup professionals or makeup addicts?
There is something you can buy at the MAC Counter. It's called primer. It works wonders by ';filling up the holes';. Anything less than this primer will look disgusting and make her feel bad. This primer looks like a white cream and you put it on with a blush brush. It feels gorgeous to the touch, light and silky. It's classy and won't feel like gunky store bought makeup. After the primer, you can use any foundation. MAC Studio Fix is excellent for coverage, but you'll probably want to use a little blush after the Studio Fix, as Studio Fix is more for ';cover up'; as opposed to adding color. The blush will add the natural human flesh alive color. Good luck! :) P.S. I use Studio Fix foundation (comes in a round compact foundation-powder in 1) and I like to call it ';white out'; It works just as good as white out does for the pen mark on a paper. :) It's like Flesh White Out hehe Forget scars, age spots, veins and acne scars... GONE!Makeup questions for makeup professionals or makeup addicts?
I would try a moisturizing foundation, that won't clog pores. Maybelline Pure Makeup works great. It evens out uneven skin tones, and covers large pores. Plus its great for your skin.

    Hope I helped.

I'm now a cosmotologist and i recomend it to my clients, or use it on the ones i fix up for pagents, weddings, banquets, etc... this stuff is wonderfull. Is it ok/professional if i use myself in my makeup portfolio?

I wouldn't. Have a range of different models.... different skin and eye colors. You want to show your versatility. Most mua's can do their own makeup easily, show what you can do with a variety of looks. Is it ok/professional if i use myself in my makeup portfolio?
I think it would be okay. this may be irrelavant but when you are buying a product you usually want to know who makes it, especially if it's going on your face! It's almost like a reccomendation, if people know that the maker puts it on their face they will think that it must be okay to use on theirs. Let me put it this way if your buying foundation and it's a choice between a no name brand and a foundation made by loreal (which is a well-known product) which will you choose??

p.s. good luck on your portfolio :)Is it ok/professional if i use myself in my makeup portfolio?

I have a couple ideas though I cannot tell you what the price is in canada sorry But I will give you an idea of the price. Ok one look will have neutral lips. Maybe a little pink but not too much. I would choose either autumn rose or pink pearl Outlast lipscolor at http://www.covergirl.com/cgcollection/li鈥?/a>

    It's about $7.49

Your cheeks should be natural for this look so don't use any.

Then use black eyeliner but make it thin and I would only use it on the bottom it isn't necessary on top. For your eyeshadow use revlon illuminance Creme eyeshadow, It comes in a set of 4 and the color set called wild orchids and is about $5.99. I reccomend the two lightest colors. Just spread the darker color over your main eyelid and use the lightest color slightly beyond your lid towards your eyebrow. Then use black mascara. I like cover girl lash exact it's about $7.50. Wiggle the mascara near the roots of your lashes and sweep up. Then take a clean mascara wand and wiggle and sweep. This seperates the lashes to make them thicker. Repeat those two steps until satisfied.

The next one you should use the classic misty look. Go with a medium grey color. Take the eyeshadow and spread it across your eyelash line like it were eyeliner. then take a clean applicator or your finger and blend the already applied eyeshadow up towards your eyebrow. It should be darkest near the bottom and lightest at the top. Don't use much else because it would be too much makeup. Apply eyeliner and mascara and that's it.

I also think you can pull off red lipstick. Use covergirl new trueshine lip color and use the shade called Fire Shine. I don't know how much it is cuz it's new but It is red. Don't use blush. Use a little bit of eyeliner on the every outer corners of your eye. line your eye slightly on the top and bottom eyelash line then smuge it to make it look a little misty. use mascara like how I told you before and that's it.

For you acne problem use that bare minerals foundation it is supposed to be breathable makeup that shouldn't cause acne.

I hope this helpsALL ABOUT MAKEUP--i need some professional help please and thank you!?
try using some mineral makeup.. it's less harsh on acne prone skin. however, u have to work it out, cuz it can make ur skin oily too....it just doens't harbor bacteria and doesn't clog pores, so u just need to find a routine/formula that helps u combat the oilies!

i suggest trying www.alimacosmetics.com or www.joppaminerals.com. also if u just wanna Practice w/ mineral makeup, www.everydayminerals.com offers free samples, u pay for shipping. so far i have tried joppa %26amp; everyday. i really like joppa cuz it comes w/ a finishing silk, which i dust on before and after i apply foundation. i have really oily skin.

    good luck!
Everydayminerals.com. The representatives in this company are great in suggesting the right products to you. They also send samples for free so you have nothing to lose-
I agree with the mineral makeup poster. I am in love with Bare Escentuals, go to a boutique and have them test it out on you for free, hope there is one near you. It's so much better for you, I have mild acne also and it has helped so much in masking it and making me feel good at the same time, like i have on very light makeup.
Try some light colors or pastels. They will look the best. You should use the Maybelline or Covergirl line. Maybelline is good for acne prone skin. Buy concealer, foundation, and powder from Maybelline. Covergirl has great colors. Buy all eye and cheek makeup from Covergirl. Use any clear or neutral colored lipgloss. You can buy this make up from Walmart. It is cheap and affordable. This is probably the cheapest makeup you good buy. Hope this helps!
Visit Mary Kay's website. The products are fabulous and you get your money worth. The prices are listed for each product. At the bottom there is a link to find a consultant in the province you live in.

On the What's New tab there is a link for Virtual Makeover. Just click the model that closely matches what you look like. Also you can click on Tips and Trends under the What's New tab.

Also, there are cleansers, moisturizers, and other products that are designed for oily acne prone skin.

Best of all, you can get a consultant to come to you for a free facial and consultation!
YOU WILL NEED TO DETERMINE THE SEASON OF YOUR COMPLEXION BASED ON YOUR/SOCIETIES CULTURAL IDENTITY. I SAY SOCIETY BECAUSE THEY HAVE A TENDENCY TO JUDGE BASED ON WHAT THEY SEE.

SECONDLY, I WOULD ESTABLISH A BUDGET FOR A MAKEOVER. THAT'S WHERE THE DEPARTMENT STORES COME INTO PLAY. HAVING A SEAT AT A CLINIQUE, LANCOME, OR FASHION FAIR COUNTER WILL HELP YOU OBTAIN A GLAMOUR LOOK. EXPECT TO SPEND $8.00 FOR SOME LIPSTICK OR EYELINER. HELPS TO ESTABLISH A RELATIONSHIP WITH THE SALES PERSON. THEY WILL REMEMBER YOU WHEN THEY HAVE SPECIAL SALES ITEMS AND WHEN NEW COLORS COME IN.

IF YOU'RE ON A TIGHT BUDGET THE LOCAL CVS %26amp; WALGREENS WILL BE SUFFICIENT. SINCE IT SOUNDS LIKE YOU'RE COMPLEXION IS NORMAL IN TERMS OF HEALTH RED, HOT PINK AND NUDE(COMPLEXION MATCHING LIPSTICK) ARE GOOD COLORS FOR YOU. SOUNDS LIKE YOU'RE THE IDEAL CANDIDATE FOR THE CHANEL LOOK.
Go to www.looselipsny.com- they have a special for $5 they send you samples. I think mineral makeup would work well for you.

MAKEUP TIPS!!! For professional photography!? Please help!?

I met this clothes designer at a party who just graduated from fashion school and she wants me to model for her. She has a photographer and I would like to know how I should do my makeup for the pictures. Whats the best kind of make up for that?MAKEUP TIPS!!! For professional photography!? Please help!?
My sister is a model and I often do her makeup for photo shoots.

Even if you have good skin, you need to use foundation to keep your skin tone even. Use a shade that matches your neck, not what color you think looks good on your face. If you just match your face, it will look like your neck and face are 2 different colors.

Try not to use anything too shiny/sparkly on your lips, eyes, or cheeks-- it creates a glare effect.

Natural colors work best for natural pictures, but there are times where a photographer will prefer heavier eye makeup or darker lips.

For lip color, choose something about 1 shade darker than your natural lip color, just to make your lips stand out a little bit. Lip liner is bad!

Blush should be a natural color, slightly darker than your natural skin color with a hint of pink, peach, or gold depending on your skin color.

Eyeshadow should be natural colors, or colors that blend well on your skin. Light purples, light pinks, and light browns look good on light skin; if you have darker skin, browns, golds, and cream colors (in my opinion), look best. You can also match your eye shadow to the clothes, but this can be tricky. Also-- don't put any color other than a highlighter color (such as cream or white) above the crease of your eyelid.

Use a light mascara- clumps are bad. My sister often uses false lashes with a light coat of mascara over them to make her lashes look thicker. Thick mascara is not pretty in pictures.

You have a few choices on eyeliner. You can go very minimal using a light brown or purplish shade, lightly lining right along your lashes. You can also go a bit thicker for a more dramatic look, but this can look messy very easily. Since this is your first time, I recommend light liner. There are more mays to do your eyeliner, but it would be a bit difficult to understand.

If this designer chose you, she obviously likes the way YOU look, so don't change the way you look too much. In my opinion, picture look the best when you bring out your natural features. Good luck with the shoot =)MAKEUP TIPS!!! For professional photography!? Please help!?
Before applying your makeup, make sure that you have cleansed, exfoliated, toned and moisturised. This will make the skin appear brighter and more radiant. Use a good quality, thick-formulated foundation and a light-reflecting concealer that is two shades lighter than your skin colour to hide dark under-eye circles and blemishes. Use bronzer rather than blusher to bring out your cheekbones and contour your face. When it comes to eye shadow, it's really down to personal preference, but make sure that your crease in your eye socket is defined (maybe use a light colour all over the lid, then a colour a few shades darker for your crease). Also, highlight your eye brow bone with a soft white colour. Eye shadow colours should be matte so that it looks more natural. Use a lengthening and volumising mascara (I like using Maybelline's False Lash Effect Mascara). For your lips, try using a lipliner in one shade darker than your natural lip colour, then applying the same colour lipstick over the top. Hope this helped! :) x
depending on the type of modeling, some designers like very bold and lots of makeup others like very lil makeup, ask before u go to your shoot.

make sure everything looks very clean, and apply it well, cameras show everything so u dont want it looking sloppy.

just ask her how she wants your makeup, and i would say the best brand would be mac. its good to start with cuz its not as expensive as the stuff i would use for modeling, the more and more shoots you get start ordering your makeup online, the expensive, high quality stuff is truely the best for modeling, cuz if applied right it always looks very clean and professional.

    good luck honey[:

During photoshoots, usually, a make up artist will be on set to do your make up, unless the photographer specifically told you to do your own make up. I'd bring some lipgloss, eyeliner, and mascara, just in case, but other than that, a make up artist should be there.
You don't want to use sunscreen for the day (just for the day). SPF reflects light and makes skin look greasy. Use a good foundation to look as flawless as possible. The rest of the face kind of depends on the theme of the dress/photoshoot. If no instruction if given, then go with a natural eye look, peach blush and berry stain lip product for the lips.
great link even shows you how to do it

What brand of a professional-set of makeup brushes would you recommend? You know, as far as the best ';hair'; used and which one achieves the best ';finish?'; What's your favorite?Any makeup artists here....need your professional expertise?
my collection of 30+ brushes is a variety of brands. not all brands make all types, so you sometimes have to mix and match. some of my favorites that i do not own (i like to save $ where i can!) are stila, mac, and smashbox. sephora professional brand brushes are nice. mine include merle norman, avon, mark, arbonne, estee lauder, sephora, etc. i even have an art store brush for concealer. nearly all of mine are natural hair. synthetic bristles are best for concealer and foundation brushes, and sometimes brows.Any makeup artists here....need your professional expertise?
I was trained at The Napoleon Perdis make-up Academy.

So I have everything from them.

I love thier brushes, they are amazing.

I don't know where you are, so I'm not sure if you would even know who Napoleon Perdis is.

but if you could get your hands on some of thier brushes...give em a go.

They are real horse hair, which is what any good make-up brush should have for bristles. Not synthetic crap.
I have a couple from Paula Dorf, and they are AMAZING! However I have heard of this website... its like Brush Up.com or something and you can actually design your own brushes and they are really great quality. A girl in my esthetician class bought some and they were pretty amazing.
the best ones are from mac kinda expensive but they give the best results
    boby brown is the best

WHat is powder? I forgot to ask in the beginning. I know I probably sound really sound really stupid right now, but the only real times I wear makeup is when I have to go to a formal event, when my mom does it for me, or when I'm in a stage production, when I don't have to buy it, and the makeup artist backstage does it for me. And also, which foundation and concealer do you think is the best? As in, which ones should I buy. I'm only getting one foundation and one concealer.

Thank you guys SO MUCH!!!!Makeup Question... Makeup Experts (Preferably Professional Beauticians) With Experience PLEASE Help!?
the difference - concealer is for specific spots on your skin - you have a blemish you're trying to cover or whatever. the foundation is then for your entire face - to even out your skin tones.. and the powder goes on last to soften up the look to make it appear like you haven't just covered your entire face with globs of paint.

what i believe -all this is too much. and i think it looks worse the more you put on. i personally go with just concealer - or you could pair up a concealer with powder. but skip the foundation. as for the skin tone, that's something that you're really going to have to go to the store and match them up to your hard.. the colors are too close to differentiate on the computer. Makeup Question... Makeup Experts (Preferably Professional Beauticians) With Experience PLEASE Help!?
Foundation is used to even out your skin ton its like a base for the rest of your makeup

Concealer is to conceal what the foundation doesn't

Powder foundation is better for people with oily skin and pressed powder is good for over your makeup to make it last longer

Idk what would go best with your skintone tho

    Hope I Helped

    USE DEEP BROWN!
i'm no professional but I think I can help.

Stick with smokey earth tones and cool colors. They are subtle colors that complement your eye color well. For a dramatic look use dark browns and black.

Use black mascara for either look just vary the amount to what satifies you.

Milani is the best for i could suggest and it's less expensive than others.
try purples eye shadow and black- browns eye liners (just enough to show) with lit pink lip gloss

She has a photographer and I would like to know how I should do my makeup for the pictures. Whats the best kind of make up for that?MAKEUP TIPS!!! For professional photography!? Please help!?
Call up the designer and see if a make up artist(MUA) is provided. If not and you still want to do the assignment you can do one of two things, a) hire your own or b) see if you can work out a deal with a MUA to do a TFP/TFCD type thing. This will involve working with the photographer and the designer to make sure they are all cool with it.MAKEUP TIPS!!! For professional photography!? Please help!?

=]How can i make my eye makeup look professional (pics included)?
    Okay,

because you have green eyes you should either go with the basic ( black) eyeliner color or if you want your eyes to pop out try going with a brown or purplish color. Now, to apply you get as close to the eye as you can. and apply from closest to the nose towards the other end. For mascara do two coats on the top and two on the bottom. For eyeshadow you could do a purplish color more near night, but in the day time go more solitary. Right now metallics are really in! When you apply do not go so far up that it blends in, but just enough for when you rub your finger over your eye (closed) that you feel the end of the eyeball. E.L.F and Ulta are nice brands. Cover girl is one of my favorites. When you get eyeshadow try looking for a couple of colors that complement you. Try target, walmart, or a drugstore for cheap makeup!!! Good LuckHow can i make my eye makeup look professional (pics included)?
I would suggest using a foundation to even out your skin. It looks a bit red around your eyes, and that draws away from what you want. Try using more green and blue in your colors. They'll really bring out your eye color. I'd suggest using that same color eyeliner, too. Try lining the inner rim of your eyes with it (you did the top, but not the bottom). Mascara also helps a lot. With dark eyeliner, try a slightly brown color. With lighter liner, try black. If you want to save money, just buy a soft black or brown black color.
okay welllllll first offff- use department store brands. MAC and Bobbi Brown are my personal favs :) although they are more expensive, its worth it. especially if you want your makeup to look professional.. because its what the pros use!

second offfff- watching people on youtube really help! especially fafinettex3.. shes my favorite :) she helped me a ton! since watching her videos (and others.. you can check out pursebuzz, xsparkage, the list goes on and on!) ive become SO much better at my makeup. people always compliment me about it :) and for school dances and stuff people actually pay me to do their hair%26amp;makeup!

so yeah those are my suggestionsss! good luck girl i hope i helped! :)
the best way to learn to apply makeup professionally is to learn from a pro, hun. check out youtube, specifically scandalousbeauty's channel. She is awesome. You'll be a makeup artist in no time.
well first put some foundation around your eye so its not red/pink

    use silver glitter liquid eyeliner

    OR

    copper eyeliner

    im guessing you use pencil.

i would use liquid its more defined and darkerr.

    idk im not much helpp.

How many times a week do you ask this question?!???????
    idk but your pretty
    let me tell u something.

the make up those girls have on are the kind of make up you see on someone who recently started wearing make up. they tend to think darker and heavier = good, but darker and heavier should be reserved for special occassions or photo shoots.

the first girl looks like she got punched by someone. wayyy too much BLACKK. if you want a smokey look, you can do it using purple or green too. instead of using black pencil eyeliner, get an angle brush, dab it on your eyeshadow and put in along ur bottom eyelash line. it'll look more subtle, natural, and prettier of course.

as for eyelashes, i use black, but i think dark brown looks good for someone who has brown hair.

if you wanna apply eyeshadow, you should use some primer. if you dont have that, at least put on some liquid foundation on your lids to keep your make up in place for a while.

    BRANDS

foundation: try using oil free %26amp; sheer colors. it'll make your skin look more fresh and natural, instead of making u look like u have a mask on.

eyeshadow: i personally dont really think it matters.. except like the ones u buy from sephora will have more pigments in it, but i think like rimmel and covergirl has pretty decent eyeshadows.

mascara: lancome hypnotique is nice its about $25

    blush: neutrogena blush.

    yea thats about it..
ok. before you buy ANY makeup, look on youtube. search 'makeup tutorials' and i'm sure you'll find a ton of stuff. makeup by mommagee actually has some awesome tutorials. then after watching the videos, decide what your taste is, and make a list of all the products the pro's suggested in their videos. I have been doing makeup for a little bit, and i have a few products to reccomend if you want professional, higly pigmented, bright colors.

for one, the ben nye palette is so prime. I have it, and i bought it off of a clown supplies store online about a month ago. it is about 60$, but totally worth it. I reccomend it x943587349857. just search ';ben nye palette'; up on google, you'll see it (:

secondly, I would like to suggest the 88 color pallete by coastal scents, or off of ebay. I got mine in the mail today. There are 88 colors in this pallette, all of which are highly pigmented. total steal!

thirdly, MAC is an awesome brand! very expensive, but that's what you'll have to pay for quality makeup! also, most sephora brands are good, such as Urban Decay, Smashbox, and others. I would suggest going to boston store, macy's, sephora, and ulta for some great cosmetic products!

also, i would tell you to stay away from drugstore brands, unless it's eye pencils or foundation/powder. Covergirl works the best for that if you have too.

AND DO NOT APPLY YOUR EYE MAKEUP WITHOUT A BASE! Urban decay primer potion is the best base you can get in my opinion. a little pricy at 17$ a pop, but it works wonders. no creasing, stays on all day, with vibrant color. you can buy UDPP at sephora or ulta. (:

so basically watch the vids, discover your technique, THEN buy the makeup. Hope all goes well for you!

Homecoming makeup ideas! need professional help!?

ok i have a black dress. i have reddish/brownish hair with natural blonde highlights and green/blue big eyes (can either make em look blue by wearing blue or green by wearing green) and a pale skintone. no clue on how to do my makeup since i dont really wear makeup often. HELP! professionals please!!! Homecoming makeup ideas! need professional help!?
    well,

    im no proffessional

    but,

i can give it a shot

i would suggest either bold lips or bold eyes

(never the two together of course)

    for bold eyes

    i would say,

black eye liner on the top lashline,

thicker on the outer corners of your eyes,

and maybe a little on the bottom lashline as well,

maybe only go like half way across on the bottom

    and smudge it slightly

so it doesnt look quite so harsh

    for eyeshadow,

i think silver smokey eyes would be really pretty

just cover the whole eye lid with a silver

and maybe mix it with a little black,

and use that in the crease

    (so its a little darker)

and then maybe bland in a little white/shimmery eyeshadow

on the inner corners of your eyes

and then some super thick black eyelashes

put a coat of it on,

and comb it out a little with an eyelash comb,

(if you dont have one of those, i use a regular small toothed comb, lol)

and then put on another coat until you are satisfied

    lol

    since you have pale skin

i wouldnt go too dark on the eyeshadow though

i would also use a little bit of light pink blush

just a little, on the cheek bones

    and maybe some lipgloss

    or a nude lipstick

for a little less dramatic eyes

    i would say,

    thin eyeliner on the top

    smudge it

a peachy color across the lid

a little darker in the crease

highlight with some white under the browbone

and also along the top of the cheekbone

(just a shimmery for that one mind you)

a couple coats of some mascara

    (im big on eyelashes, lol)

    light pink cheeks

and if you think you could pull it off

(takes a lot of confidence, as well as the right shade for you face)

    some bright red lipstick

    its a classic

    lol

    well,

    i hope i helped

    lol

    have fun!

    i dont get a homecoming

:(Homecoming makeup ideas! need professional help!?
i have pale skin and green/blue eyes too! i think it would look nice if you did a smokey eye using grays instead of blacks, since your skin is fair. last year, i used Mary Kate and Ashley eye shadow trio in Dynamic. I used the light gray on my eyelids, and i mixed the light and dark gray for my crease(i didn't use the purple) if you don't like the colors, i'm sure Rimmel would have something similar.

    xxPink makeup case professional?
It doesn't look tacky but maybe a black one would be better. You want people to think that you know what you are doing and pink is okay but if you want to look like you have been doing this for a while choose black.Pink makeup case professional?
I would say get black but get the exact same case, no matter what job you are doing wether it's for a wedding, concert, or play the box will not look out of place if it is black.

  • How do I get trained by M.A.C. cosmetics or other professional brand makeup companies?

Hi.. I'm an aspiring makeup artist who is really eager to get into the makeup business. I have spoken with a makeup artist who suggested that I apply to places like M.A.C. or Bobbi Brown as a way to get more hands on experience. She said that they usually train all their makeup artists before they start selling and that it would be a good way to learn some techniques without going to an actual makeup school. I'm just wondering if anyone knows how you even go about this? Is there a website where I apply or do I apply through the makeup counter? Are they hired by the makeup company or the department store like Macy's for example? It doesn't have to be M.A.C. specifically it can be any cosmetics brand that is at a department store. How do I get trained by M.A.C. cosmetics or other professional brand makeup companies?
I want to do the same thing! I talked to a woman in Macy's who told me that you could just apply online (on Macy's website) and say that you would like to work in the cosmetics section of the store. She also said that they would train me, so I def think this is a great way to get experience with makeup! I will let you know if I find anything else out and I'd appreciate it if you'd let me know if you find something. Thanks and good luck to you :)

Which is more professional in the workplace? Makeup or no makeup?

    Mild Makeup.

No Makeup: This can make you look like you don't care about your appearance at work (which can make you seem like you don't care enough about the job to take care of yourself) %26amp; tired.

Too Much Makeup: This can make you look sloppy, sleezy, give an innappropriate image for work, and overall unprofessional.

I think this is a professional look:

    http://almay.com/pg/advice/getthelookc.a鈥?/a>

Hope I Helped ---Which is more professional in the workplace? Makeup or no makeup?
    some, not alot

make it natural lookingWhich is more professional in the workplace? Makeup or no makeup?
Makeup, but only a little. It shows you care about looking nice at your work, and try, but you are mature and sophisticated enough to not put on too much!
You can wear makeup in the workplace, but it must be moderate. Too much is not for the workplace it for a night on the town.
I figure if no one knows I'm wearing makeup, I've got it just about right for work.
There is a way of putting on makeup with it looking like your not wearing any. Put on a foundation that can blend with your natural face color.(you can use a bronzer, but make sure your face isn't to dark that it looks fake.) Use a light eye liner and some neutral shimmer eye shadow. You can also put on mascara and a little bit of blush. To find out what color blush works for your face pinch your cheek and that is the shade you should use.
    light make-up
That solely depends on where you work, what you look like etc.

If you put on too much makeup it may look cheesy, But if you put on too little it could look frumpy.

You need like a swipe of mascara, some concealer on red spots or zits, lip gloss and maybe eyeliner or a touch of eyeshadow.

    That is about it.

    XOXO

    Gabby
    It doesn't matter.
    I say some make-up.
make-up but not to much for ex: things that match your skin tone
A little bit usually does it. It also depends where you work. For example, a female hair stylist might wear more makeup than a female mechanic. A bit of mascara, foundation, blush and eye shadow usually does it, along with a dab of lip gloss. You want to be chic while still being classy, so bear in mind that less is more.

    XOXO,

    Laurie
A small amount of makeup is usually the best.
Wear make up so you look polished and poised. Jessica Biel is the only person I can think of that actually looks better without makeup.
make up ,, but dont make it sleay .. make it nice and natural
light make up, look natural, but inhanced. do not do bold colors and make sure that your foundation matches your skin tone
JUST ADD A LITTLE MAKE UP BUT DON'T OVER DO IT
DO NOT EVA WHERE NO MAKE UP ANYWHERE
defenitley make up but dont over do it , you dont want to look like a clown or whatever! be urself, dont try to look like everyone else! they just look like fake barbie dolls

Your best bet is to take that photo to a cosmetics counter at the mall (try MAC) and let their artist help you out.Can anyone professional in makeup tell me the tools %26amp; products to use to get this look?[pic inside]
i would use a gold eyeshadow to put on your lids, with lots of thick black liquid eyeliner. Follow with 2-3 coats of a volumizing, lengthening mascara. Use a berry colored cream blush and blend on the apples of your cheeks. Finish off with a peach colored gloss.
Her look is pretty easy - it's just a natural look it seems. Sorry, this might be a bit wordy, I'm not sure how much detail you want.

Eyebrows: Her eyebrows seem to be very defined, and if it was made up to be that way, you can do it as well. Use Clinique Brow Shaper or any eye shadow you may have in 1-3 shades lighter than your actual eyebrow color. Fill it in gently and kind of sweep/dab it across so it doesn't look too fake.

Eyes: The picture's a tad small, but you can tell she has heavy mascara on. I assume she has eyeliner on as well. Use black eyeliner (liquid, pencil or ';marker';) and apply it to the top only in a neat line. Use an eyelash curler to double up the curl to have such ';big'; lashes like Gisbelle. Then, use volumizing mascara like Estee Lauder Hypnose or just Covergirl Lash Blast. Use multiple coats, and then layer it with a lengthening formula (my always go-to length mascara is Clinique Long Pretty Lashes.)

Face: Use a primer to create a nice base for foundation (try Benefit That Girl or MAC.) Apply liquid foundation for that dewy look (try MAC as well.) Next, apply blush to the apples of your cheeks (suck in your face so your cheekbones protrude.) Apply there in sweeping circular motions with Benefit Throb or Benefit Georgia blush. Throb is more intense and sultry, while Georgia maintains pretty. Finally, finish with a nice anti-feather nude lipstick (try Clinique High Impact Lip Color in A Nutshell.) Use a pencil to avoid feathering if you like, although I don't think you will need it.
Use a white liner pencil (Rimmel Kohl Kajal in Pure White) to line the inner corner of your eye. Use a black liner pencil (Rimmer Kohl Kajal Jet Black) to line from about mid lid to outer corner on the top and bottom. Blend the white and black together with your finger. Use a liquid liner (Urban Decay liquid liner in Oil Slick) to retrace the black liner, making the line slimmer where it meets the white and thickest as you get towards the outer corner of your eye. Trace the top only, not the bottom. At the edge, stretch your eye out and up and close your lid, then make a thick line continuing from the lid line and up (think Amy Winehouse, majorly subdued.)

Use white eyeshadow (CoverGirl in Snow Blossom) in the inner corner of your eye, blending with the white liner. Move the brush upwards to about mid lid, then use a dark brown shadow to the outer edge of the lid. Blend with the white. Use the shadow on your lid only! Now use a bronze shadow on the brow bone and blend from the lid on the outer edge. All of the colors can be found in the CoverGirl quad eyeshadow Coffee Shop tray.

To further the look, use false eyelashes. Apply foundation, blush, and fill in eyebrows as usual. Good luck!

Need makeup help from a Professional MAC makeup artist!?

I want to achieve this model's makeup look:

She's written something on her blog about her makeup brand (which is MAC) so that's why I wanted professional help from a MAC makeup artist. I know it's less than likely to be able to figure out exactly what she uses; her makeup just looks flawless! Any suggestions on the type of MAC foundation brand/powder, cheek color, eyeshadow that she probably used to achieve this look would be greatly appreciated.Need makeup help from a Professional MAC makeup artist!?
GO to MAC and have them tell you! The only makeup I wear is MAC and I get a million compliments on how flawless my skin looks! You will spend a lot of money MAC-ing up your make-up kit, but once you are complete and only have to maintain it (buying new powder, eye shadow, etc.) you will be set! It is impossible to tell you what she is wearing from a pic, but everything MAC offers will pull this look off. She obviously has very good skin as well so if you don't, don't get your hopes up toooo high!Need makeup help from a Professional MAC makeup artist!?
honestly, you're probably not going to get a MAC makeup artist, but there will be some helpful people out there on Y!A, and you probably won't know EXACTLY what colors, but it's obvious, that you can get the general color scheme. just use anything MAC. go to a MAC makeup counter in like Macy's, and show them the picture, they'll be more than happy to help you.
i am not a MAC artist, but i would not lie when i say i am very good at describing makeup.

Go to the MAC website and find some powders and shadows that she used in her photos. If you dont want to spend the money, by something similar to that. sephora has some great stuff and so does Victoria secret.

    1. use coverup on those trouble areas, followed by liquid foundation

    2. once you have a set 'canvas' apply black liner to her waterline and a think layer to the top of your lid

    3. then apply a dark brown shadow to the corner of your eye (matte is your best bet)

*use a liner brush for most of your application

    4. with your liner brush smudge some black matte shadow around the outer corner of your eye

    5. find a soft brush that you have and blend in white shimmer shadow to the brow bone. then line with black liquid liner (thin) and add mascara

    6. here's a trick for blush use bronzer first as a base from your cheek bone to the apple then get a peach blush and blend over the bronzer it will give you a richer look

Hi! I have job interviews next week. Professional business makeup and style advice please? Thank you.?

Wear some nice slacks, with a button down blouse. make sure you don't leave too many buttons undone at the top. You don't want to show off much cleaveage. If you have a pair of black flats they go great with any outfit that you're trying to look professional in. Make sure that if your shoes are black %26amp; your pants are black that you wear black socks. (I've noticed in my experience white socks is something employers tend to look down on if you're wearing black slacks %26amp; shoes). Keep your hairstyle out of your face. Make sure you keep good posture at the interview. Slouching gives the employer a (false) sense of you being a slacker. When it comes to make-up be sure that it looks NATURAL. Light colors that blend well with you skin tone. Don't cake on the make-up, instead use just a touch to hide blemishes and accentuate areas that you want to have noticed. Remember if you're trying to look professional... make sure you take a pen with you (just in case he/she wants you to fill something out), when walking walk with confidence and hold your head up high (be sure not to over do it though, you don't want to look self-rightous). Other than that, be sure your clothes are wrinkle free and have confidence, because no matter what the job is, you've got an interview, so you are able to get the job. Be confident %26amp; good luck!!!Hi! I have job interviews next week. Professional business makeup and style advice please? Thank you.?
Conservative make-up. Don't go too bright on any colors. Hair up and tidy - one barret or clip if showing. Outfit should be either a dark or nutral color pantsuit or skirtsuit with natural pantyhose and matching shoes. Heels should not be too high. Go easy on the accessories - simple earrings, 1 or 2 rings, watch. Carry a briefcase/document bag instead of a purse - one or the other but not both. Bring and extra pair of panty hose in case you get a run. Be sure to take a shower and wear deoderant - no perfume or cologne. (if you do make it very light)Hi! I have job interviews next week. Professional business makeup and style advice please? Thank you.?
My suggestion is a dark suit, either black or navy blue, wear a skirt suit. Be sure to put on stockings, and be sure they blend with your skin. For your suit, it would be nice to wear a solid color blouse, nothing too loud nor boring. Your shoes, must match the color of the suit. Put on either navy blue or black shoes, be sure they match your suit color. Depending on the texture of your hair, my suggestion is to be sure it is straight and either in a ponytail or laid back. Make up, dont put too much one, maybe a little foundation and blush. No eye shadow or lipstick. Lip gloss or lip balm would work. If you have nails, be sure they are painted a solid color or with a french manicure design. The design on your nails can say alot about your character. For your purse or handbag, go for a black one or a briefcase looking bag.

When you walk into the interview, be sure to walk in there with confidence. Lack of confidence can kill your whole presentation.

    Good Luck!!
if you're a lady,a good suit that accentuates your shape will do with make up that doesn't say ';hey i'm trying to look my best just for today';but makes you look natural and comfortable.wear matching and comfortable shoes and a good smile or if the suit doesn't suit you pick a long sleeved shirt and trousers or knee-length skirt(i love red shirts and black skirts) with not so high-heeled sandals,a wonderful bag and your hair in a sophisticated style, red lips,a little dark eyes and charming smile.if you're a guy well a good suit and tie with nice hair maybe gelled in place with nice shoes will do.i hope this helps.goodluck with your interviews
    simple and tailored, remember this.

solid colors. nuetral, one maybe bolder.

    simple makeup.

    here's what I wore today (I own a business):

neutral eye colors-- shadow and liner, mascara

    foundation, blush

deeper, bold lip (i have a full mouth)

    clothes:

brown satin cami with white lace trim

    gray blazer, ties at waist

gray skirt (has subtle criss-cross design-- not matchy-matchy with blazer)

    brownish tights

    brown suede open-toe pumps

    simple hanging-beads necklace

    simple, classic hairstyle

it's important that you look as though you care about staying neat and groomed, but don't put more thought into your appearance than you will your job

ps give a firm handshake-- not one of those dead-fish kinds

    i hate wimpy handshakes
Spend the money to go to a beauty salon and have a stylist give you a good cut with a style that you can match...she should also be able to do the same for makeup. I'm not talking about a $10 haircut chop shop. Make sure you let her/him know the type of company you're interviewing with...stuffy or wild.

Why is it that people will spend the money on the correct clothes, but try to skimp on the looks department.
J C hit it on the money! Listen to her!
Dress conservatively, and light on the makeup. A suit(with a skirt) is good.Low heels, and remember to make eye contact....
Of course it really depends on what type of job you are interviewing for but you can't go wrong with a dark colored suit (pants or decent length skirt) complimented with a nice colored shirt under the jacket. Nothing too wild or flashy. As far as makeup, wear colors to compliment your features but don't over do it. The natural look is best, same with hair. If it is long wear it up in a nice bun or something similar,as long as it looks neat. No open toe shoes or stilletto's for females, just some pumps or other high heel shoes. Keep jewelry to a minimum, only stud earrings,no more than one ring on each finger. Just keep it simple. Oh and if you carry a cellphone make sure it's turned OFF! . Good luck!!
I would wear either a business suit (skirt or pants is acceptable) in a neutral color or basic black or blue. Or you can wear a nice blouse with a pair of slacks or a skirt. No busy patterns. Makeup should be kept nice and used to enhance your natural beauty. I would stay away from dark colors or heavy eye makeup. No bright red lips!!! Dress conservatively, no cleavage or bare mid riff type tops. I would also make sure to steer away from short skirts or sleeveless tops.
Light natural-looking makeup. Nothing heavy or bright. As far as what to wear, something MODEST. Don't show cleavage and no skirts above the knee. Also, please please please, don't forget to IRON YOUR CLOTHES.

These are things that I look at when I am hiring someone new.
Don't go too heavy on the make-up or you'll put off the interviewers straight away, you need to look natural but if you don't make any effort they might think that would carry onto your work! I would suggest wearing a smart woman's skirt with matching top with figure to it, but don't make it too dark and you want to wear colours to suit your personality.

Make-up wise I would wear some light foundation, dark mascara, discreet eyeliner (may be), some neutral eyeshadow and a small amount of blusher (you don't want to look ill - especially if you have a pale skin-tone). But don't [whatever you do] over-do it - this will give the complete opposite effect you want - the tarty look.

Hair wise, it depends on your style, however, definately wash it the night before but don't dye it or anything. Blow-dry it, straighten, curl it into whatever style but don't make it to 'party-like' (especially if you curl your hair) and use a lot of products on it, which can also make it greasy. Make it smart but not boring.

Do not: - Dress way to young for your age but on the other hand don't dress frumpy, the interviewers are looking for someone with a bubbly personality as well as being suitable (brain-wise) for the job.

    - Over-do the make-up.

    - Pretend to be someone you're not at the interview (but that's not got a lot to do with your appearance).

    - Over-do the hairstyle.

And remember that everything is important for your job interview so don't forget that how you look is important too!

    Good luck!
It would be very helpful to know what sort of job the interview is for.

Makeup -- minimal at the most. For many jobs it's better to have none for the interview. And certainly none is better than overdone.

Dress -- Simple, business-like. If the interviewers are likely to be male, they'll prefer to see you in a skirt (around knee-length) and jacket, with white or possibly black blouse.

Hair -- not over-styled and not hanging all over the place

Grooming -- no hairy legs and no trace of moustache

When you go into the room, walk in with your head up, look round, smile and wait to be asked to sit down.

Be prepared to answer a question on your outside interests.

Don't speak for longer than three minutes or so.

Be prepared with a question when they ask you if you've any. Ask something about opportuniities, if you were successful, to develop your skills to enable you to make an ongoing positive contribution to the company.

When the interview's over, stand up and say thank you for giving me the opportunity to be interviewed in person. The interviewers may or may not shake hands with you.

Smile, turn go to the door. As you go out, turn and smile slightly again, nodding your head towards them. Remember that though first impressions are important, last impressions are even more so.

Take it from an experienced interviewer :-)

I need a professional to show me how to do my makeup right. What sohould I do? I dont have much money either?

Foundation is tricky, if and when you buy some, get liquid and dab a bit on your hand and rub it in, that will tell you if it's too dark, too light, or if it blends in nicely to your skin. Oil free is nice because it does not leave a sheen on your skin. Apply a small dab to the middle of your forehead, nose, both cheeks, and chin and rub in. Do NOT stop just at the face, bring the foundation down onto your neck lightly, so you wont look like you're wearing a mask.

Blush is also tricky, try not to get too light or too dark, one will make you look sunburned, the other will make your face look washed out and Clownish. Try to get a color that works for you. When you apply it, smile, the puffy apple part of your cheek is what you lightly apply blush to. Go from the nose side of your cheek and blend it back toward your hair line.

Eyeshadow is easier, since you are tight on money, buy the basics, browns, greens *usually has some blue in the compacts*, blue *if green doesnt have any in it*. Depending on your eyes you will want to apply it differently. If you have small eyes, do not go too dark on the lids, this will make your eyes look smaller. You will want to do a lighter set of colors. If your eyes are bigger, then you can get away with a darker color, not black, but a navy blue, teal, or a chocolate brown. If your eyes are brown, you can get away with, Brown or Plum eyeshadow without looking funny. Green eyes get Green or blue. And blue eyes get blue's or silvery whites. Just depends on what you want to get.

~When applying eyeshadow, use a medium color, somewhere between the dark and light you have and apply it from the lash to the brow. Now take the darkest color and apply it from the creases of your eye to the center, to the fold that folds in when you open your eye. Now take the lightest color and apply it barely above your lashline and up on the brow that shows.

Eyeliner not a necessity, but if you want it, i'd go with a grey. Blue's tend to stand out quite a bit, and black is good, but it's dark. Use a coal grey, it's simply to darken the eye, not hide it. When using eyeliner, do not cover the whole eye, on the bottom lid go about half way from the outer corner of your eye. On the upper lid do a thin line in the lash line to complete the look.

Mascara, again not a necessity, but if you want it, then i'd recommend something waterproof, that way if it rains, or you cry, you wont get black lines down your face. Mascara apply to all of the top lid, and on the bottom do it from the outside to about the middle.

Lipstick, Not a Necessity!! You can buy some chapstick, or lip gloss and accentuate your lips as they are. Buuut if you do want lipstick, go with something basic. Something close to your lip tone. Not too dark or too light. Dark makes you look washed out, and light makes you look sick.

Hope this helps!I need a professional to show me how to do my makeup right. What sohould I do? I dont have much money either?
At sephora, if you ask them, they will help you choose, and teach you how to apply makeup for freeI need a professional to show me how to do my makeup right. What sohould I do? I dont have much money either?
You can go to a make-up counter in a department store %26amp; they usually will make your face for free %26amp; give you instructions on how to do it. Good luck. 2D
you can go to a make up counter and get your make up done and just buy one of the products they use on you.
    i live in VA blacksburg
Try going to your local department store to one of the make up counters... or if you have a sephora store i n your local mall you can try on the make up there and you can have them help you out if you need it and it is free... they have samples everywhere and you dont have to buy anything if you dont like it.
you dont need to spend money or alot of money for a professional to help you. just visit a local makeup counter and try out somethings. tell them what you are looking for in makeup and what kind of skin you have. they will be more than happy to assist you. if you are looking for something dramatic and hip, go with Mac if you can afford it. if you want something natural and subtle, stick with loreal, prescriptives or clinique. there are other good brands on the market you just have to try them out.

  • I'm a professional in the beauty field but seldom do we use mineral makeup.?

Personally I have been expanding my collection of mineral eye shadow pigments due to the high quality and color payoff as well as the prices offered by the American companies. So far I haven't had much success with any mineral foundations but am eager to continue trying. Lines that have let me down regarding quality are

Everyday Minerals - no lasting power and rather chalky

    Meow - similar issues

Bare Escentuals - irritating itching and no coverage to speak of

Any suggestions?I'm a professional in the beauty field but seldom do we use mineral makeup.?
I have to disagree about Bare Escentuals. While it may be itchy to some it has never bothered me. Also, I have very uneven skin (thanks to the acne marks) and it covers great. The only thing that it does not cover are very dark spots which I just use MAC Studio Finish concealer for.

However, what I don't like about it is that it gets everywhere because of my oily face. :(I'm a professional in the beauty field but seldom do we use mineral makeup.?
Avon have a line of mineral makeups I haven't tried them so I cannot give you comment.
    no...the damage your skin

    Yes I do!

With all the bright lights and my oily complection, I need to wear alot of makeup and skin balancing powders. It feels alot like wearing a pancake on your face when you smile, however it is alot better than the alternative of looking like a sweaty freak when the lights reflect off your forhead.

Give me Directions how to do my makeup like a professional please!?

To do a makeup job appropriate for the office, the following is the most complete.

Use a good moisturizer on your entire face

Put your base on over this immediately – the moisturizer allows it to spread evenly. You can use your fingertips to do it quickly, much like you did the moisturizer, then use a sponge to even it out

BE SURE to blend it all the way to your hairline and stroke down towards your neck to avoid a “mask” line. If you can see it clearly on your neck then you are using a base too dark.

Place a touch of colored shadow on the inside corner of your eye. Use a neutral tone for the lid, and a slightly (SLIGHTLY) darker shade at the outmost corner and also run a fine line of it across the crease. Take a firm short brush and blend the colors. I just scuff it back and forth until the lines are nicely blurred between the colors

Be sure you do not have a long dark path extending out from the outer corners – that is for nighttime and dramatic flair only.

Use a lighter color all the way to the brow. A very pale skin tone or white are best on Caucasian skin. Blend this as well.

If you need an eyeliner (blondes and redheads usually do) be sure to use a soft tip and basically try to put it on your lashes. This results in the closest line to your lash line. I’ve found I can also use a flat brush and brown shadow to creat a softer line in a pinch. The best eyeliner I have ever found, and is often used by professionals, is a cake liner. This is an old fashioned style block of makeup that you get wet to form a nice paste (not too runny) and a very sharp brush to put it on. It holds FOREVER.

If you feel you really need blush, barely puff a soft tone similar to your skin on the apples of your cheeks (make a big goofy grin and the roundest part under your eyes is the “apple”) I never use blush because I use a very thin layer of base and allow my natural skin tone to show through.

Use a poofy brush and puff soft neutral powder over your whole very gently. Brush the excess off or even flip on your blow dryer for a quick second. This is a great way to get rid of any extra powder anywhere.

Use a neutral mascara – only use black if that is your natural lash color, otherwise it looks really bad. Blot the brush first on a tissue – gets rid of blobs. Run the tip along your lower lash line. You don’t need mush. Stroke downwards once, then stroke upwards only once or twice. If you need to use the tip to touch up the inner and outer corners where you might have missed. DON’T TOUCH UNTIL IT IS DRY! Do not use a lash comb until it is dry.

A neutral lipstick is best. To test lipsticks dab on the end of your pinky. This is actually closest to your lip color. The back of your hand is too close to your cheek. Use a tiny liner brush to line your lips with the lipstick. Good way to save on lip liner. Then fill in and blot off the excess. Good stay-on lipstick is Mac, it does take time to dry and you have to use a thin layer, but once it is on the stuff lasts FOREVER. You actually have to soak a cotton ball in baby oil and hold it against your lips to remove it. I love the stuff. No reapplying, no goofy lips after lunch…. It’s great for dates too. No smooching smears.

That’s it! For an evening look, use darker or more dramatic color shadow (I love a deep purple in the corner and blending out to gold with a dark brown outer corner) and heavier eye liner and darker lipstick. Go get ‘em!Give me Directions how to do my makeup like a professional please!?
A Makeup Professional has to ask herself these questions:

*What is her client's best features, and how should she highlight them?

*What is her client's worst features, and how should she downplay them?

    *What is her client's skinshade - fair/light, medium/tan, deep/dark?

*What is her client's skintone - cool, warm, neutral?

*What color is her clients eyes?

*What is her client's faceshape - oval, round, square, heart?

*What is the look the client is trying to acheive - natural, casual, romantic, trendy, retro, dramatic, sexy, flirty, etc?

    Makeup Tips II

It depends on what you use, and then whatever you apply, do so delicately. You'll figure out what works with practice. Here is some essentials you can try:

Bonnebell Eyestyle Mascara in Basic Black- see if you can get your hands on this, if not ANY Max Factor mascara works awesomely

foundation: MAX Factor Silk Perfection Liquid to Powder Foundation (is ammaazzzzzing)

Lips: Covergirl WetSlicks Crystal Lipgloss in Sassy OR better yet, Maybelline New Superstay Powergloss in Glass Rose.

Eyelids: L'Oreal Paris Telescopic Liquid Eyeliner in Charcoal- a must!!

Also, buy a simple white eyeliner pencil from any brand and highlight your inner eye corners, closest to your nose and then apply on bottom eyelid (before eyelashes begin) to make eyes appear brighter.

eyeshadow- Covergirl has really good palattes of more than one color. Find the palatte with the goldest colors.
    1. Use brushes

    2. Know your undertones

    3. Do it in sunlight

Makeup artist or bridal makeup professional, would you...?

...be offended if the bride brought her own makeup to use instead of using yours?

When I say ';own makeup,'; I'm referring to primer, foundation, powder, and mascara, specifically. See, I can't do makeup to save my life. So I'm paying a professional to do my bridal makeup. I can however, apply my foundation, translucent powder, and mascara. I have some core products that work well for my sensitive skin and give me wonderful results. I can't see parting with these products on my wedding day when they give me such amazing results. I would only want to use my own primer, foundation, powder, and mascara, the rest of the products used to create the look could belong to the artist. So, would you mind if a bride requested this from you? I'm so worried about breaking out from products that may not go with my skins chemistry on such an important day in my life.Makeup artist or bridal makeup professional, would you...?
That depends on where you get it done and on your individual make-up artist. Noone would be offended if you asked in advance and you made a deal, assuming that you didn't expect a reduced price or anything. That being said, many professional makeup artists have backgrounds as cosmetologists and have a lot of knowledge about producs. They may even be able to direct you towards products that are even better for your skin. Also, the shades and types of product you own may not be what the total look calls for. The makeup artist has many things to consider, lighting, clothing, an overall theme... it could mess him/her up quite a bit if you spring your own makeup collection on them as a surprise.

I have done some freelance work and wouldn't be offended as long as you didn't surprise me with it. You're the customer, you get to decide. I may or may not agree with you or advice you to do something else, but there would be no hard feelings.

If you are going to an artist that isn't freelance but employed by a store or product line, they may not allow you. These artists often work on comission and/or promotion of their brand and have contracts to use these products exclusively. And if they are work for comission, it's just plain rude to bring your own. You'd be stealing their time and not giving them the chance to earn any money.

Professionals tend to put their makeup kits together with a bunch of different brands, so it's not likely that you'll find a professional makeup kit all put together. And on top of that, if you DID find a complete professional makeup kit, it would costs hundreds to thousands of dollars. Just make a list and figure out what exactly you need, then go out and find those individual products. That might not be what you're looking to hear, but try www.cherryculture.com, they have lots of makeup for a great price. Good luck!
You can go to a site that has that stuff then type the name of the site in on google (w/o the .com thing) and if it is good or bad there should be reviews on it
    mac it is the best

Is there a professional brand of Makeup?

other than maybeline or covergirl. Is there a professional brand of Makeup?
    there are millions!

but the expensive makeup brands are in department stores

like Clinique and Lancome. Is there a professional brand of Makeup?
There's two types of Pro- expensive and non-expensive.

Expensive- Urban Decay, MAC, Lorac, Kirenese, Clinique, Laura Mercer (basically everything on the Sephora website xD)

Inexpensive- L'OREAL, Almay, MAX Factor... a lot of things that are on cherrycultures.com or at Ulta that are a bit cheaper.

if you're talking about a professional makeup brand that you can buy in a drugstore, which i'm guessing you are because you said ';covergirl and maybelline '; then yes !

    it's called ';sonia kashuk';

There are tons of them like MAC, Urban Decay, Laura Mercier...all of which are very good. A lot of the higher up brands you have to get at a store like Sephora.
of course, except maybelline and covergirl are not professional to me.

    i hate crappy drugstore brands.
All make up brands are consider professional. It just depends if you know how to apply it right or not. There are also a lot of cosmetic brands at ULTA store.

Where is a good place to get professional makeup done at The Bay? (Other than MAC)?

I'm getting my makeup professionally done for prom at one of those The Bay makeup boutiques, but I don't know which brand should do my makeup. I want vibrant make-up... olive green and gold to match my dress. Other than MAC (because they only have early appointments) where is a good place to get it done at one of those boutiques?

Something similar to MAC would be ideal because I really like the MAC colours and style. My friend is doing Clinique, which specializes in more natural looking makeup. I've heard of Shiseido but I couldn't find any pictures of what kind of makeup they specialize in.

Thanks ahead of time :)Where is a good place to get professional makeup done at The Bay? (Other than MAC)?
Umm i don't know what the Bay is but Urban Decay, Too Faced, and Benefit would be good alternatives to Mac :)Where is a good place to get professional makeup done at The Bay? (Other than MAC)?
