What does it take to be a Professional Makeup artist.?

What does it take to be a professional makeup artist?

What do you have to do to become one?

Where should your skill level be with makeup when you start? What does it take to be a Professional Makeup artist.?
Depends on your idea of professional, really.

First, it take cosmetology school. You are going to want to find a good one and it likely won't be cheap. One of the biggest obstacles in becoming successful as a makeup artist is choosing the wrong school -reputation is very important.

When you start school you don't have to have much ';skill'; but you will need to have done a lot of experimenting and practicing. You want to be SURE that you want to do makeup for the rest of your life if you are going to pay up to $18,000 a year for school.

You will probably never be famous though... Bobbi Brown and Laura Mercier are probably no more talented at applying makeup than anyone who is dedicated and has the same amount of experience in the field. It is about luck and drive. If you are driven to succeed and willing to work your *** off, you could be doing makeup on sitcom stars for a living. What does it take to be a Professional Makeup artist.?
Well i know that there are a lot of classes that you can take
