How do I become a professional makeup artist?

i just graduated from 2 years of cosmetology school. and we did A LOT of hair! we spent a week; 2 weeks tops on make up! so if your main focus is on make-up, i would look into make-up classes.. not cosmetology. but you dont even need a liscence to do make-up.. you only need the lisence to do hair and nailsHow do I become a professional makeup artist?

im pretty sure you have to go to school and study it and like it was said above get your license.


also try getting a job at beauty/makeup stores like sephora or ulta for example or even working at a beauty counter (like in a department store)





but there are others ways you can become known as a ';professional'; makeup artist like broadcasting yourself on youtube, you'll have tons of fans.and good potentially get recognized for your talent. one makeup guru was even able to open her own t-shirt line thanks to the support of her fans!
